Mind Mapping has changed my life. I think about and manage information in ways I never thought possible in my lifetime. Armed with this new skill, I wish I could revisit college and even high school all over again, just to increase my comprehension and knowledge retention.

This book was inspired by many things. As I was learning Mind Mapping in 2010, I quickly discovered that managing my consulting tasks and tracking the work activity would be better suited to this new organizational layout. Traditionally, I had always used some sort of pre-printed day planner book of some sort, with the standard grid of hours, days, weeks and months.

This type of grid worked when the activity was light and require lots of time to complete. But, when things got busy with lots of activity condensed in a short period of time, details were quickly lost, and the invoice suffered as a result. You see, this time tracking was important as a consultant as this was the proof that I had completed the work at the indicated place and time.

After years of struggle, and armed with this new technique, and necessity being the mother of invention, The Daily Mapper™ was formed. This book is partially hand typed (foreword and afterword) and then also software generated. As part of the unique purpose for this book, I developed a sophisticated typesetting application that combines and produces the entire book, ready to print, all 450+ pages.

I hope that this publication proves to be as helpful to you as it has been for me and my friends, family and colleagues. So many have told me “I’ve been looking for a planner like this my whole life, I just didn’t know what it would look like!!”. Glad to be, your humble servant. — Andrew McLaughlin
